Anti-Ligature Safety Feature

PATENTED ANTI-LIGATURE GASKETING HELPS PROTECT RESIDENTS IN CORRECTIONAL AND PSYCHIATRIC FACILITIES  

Zero International has introduced an anti-ligature option to prevent its gasketing from being used for anything other than its intended purposes, including harming one's self or others. The rubber in the anti-ligature gasketing is sectioned or scored prior to insertion into aluminum housings or adhesive application to doors or frames. It functions normally for its specified application but is designed to break into pieces if removed for any reason from housings or working surfaces.

Patented in the United States with foreign patents pending, the Anti-Ligature Design is ideally suited for use in correctional and mental health facilities. New York State is one jurisdiction where anti-ligature gasketing is now a design standard or recommended practice for new construction in those types of institutions. Demand for the protection this feature provides continues to grow along with the popularity of self-adhesive "stick-on" gasketing for its ease of application and replacement, as well as cost benefits.
