Hurricane Protection / Wind Driven Infiltration System 1

This system is designed to create sturdy airtight system which will prevent water and air infiltration in hurricane prone areas. Since products in this system will take abuse from the harsh outdoor environment this system is specifically comprised of heavy duty, commercial grade products that are built to withstand abuse! The system combines a Cam Lift Hinge, Two Door Gaskets, Two Door Bottoms, a Rain Drip and a Rabbeted Threshold.

Cam Lift Hinge (Z955): This cam lift, mortised architectural hinge is made of heavy duty material and is compatible with medium weight doors. The cam lift motion raises the door while it swings open and drops it when the door is closed, creating a tight seal around the perimeter of the door which prevents extraneous infiltration.

Basic Door Gasket with Neoprene Seal (Z475): This door gasket is applied along the door stop at the header and jambs of the door. The enhanced neoprene seal is compressed when the door is closed to create an airtight seal and prevent air and water infiltration. The seal has an extruded bulb and finger design which compensates for any misalignment of the door or gasket installation and will ensures a tight seal, even with some surface irregularities.

Self-Adhesive Batwing Style Silicone Weatherstrip (Z8144): This self-adhesive weatherstrip is applied along the gap between the door stop and the door, to compensate for any extra gaps and ensure a constantly secure seal. The convenient adhesive backing allows for no-hassle installation.

Aluminum Door Bottom with Sponge Neoprene Seal (Z139): This door bottom is applied to the interior side of the door to fill any extra gap between the door bottom and the threshold seal. It is fitted with a sponge neoprene seal which has great compression properties.

Aluminum Door Bottom with Solid Neoprene Ring Seal (Z328): This door bottom has an aluminum retainer which holds a durable solid neoprene ring seal. It is applied to the bottom of the exterior side of the door. When the door is closed, the seal is lightly compressed against the face of the saddle threshold to form an airtight seal and prevent infiltration of air and water.

Aluminum Rain Drip (Z142): This rain drip is applied to the top of the door to deflect water and prevent infiltration through the gap above the door.

Aluminum Rabbeted Threshold with Neoprene Gasket (Z561): This doorway threshold is applied to the bottom of the door to prevent seepages. It can fill gaps of .5". It is fitted with an enhanced solid neorpene seal which is compressed when the door is closed to ensure a proper seal at all times.
