Glynn Johnson 100 Series Door Holders and Stops provide the most reliable and versatile concealed overhead door control for heavy-duty applications. The 100 Series holders provide the most effective control for entrance, vestibule doors as well as heavy or often used interior doors.
Materials and Finishes: In heavy gauge brass or 300 Stainless Steel these models offer the broadest range of finishes in the industry complementing any design and offering the highest resistance to corrosion. Available in the following finishes: US3, US4, US10, US10B, US32, US32D, SP4, SP10, SP28, SP313, SPBLK
Applications: Designed for installation on all types of doors mounted on conventional type butt hinges, pivots, continuous hinges, swing clear hinges and numerous other specialty hinges. When used in conjunction with many surface-applied door closers, they provide the most effective control for entrance doors and vestibule doors of all type, including heavy or high abuse interior doors.
Function: Features the most reliable hold-open mechanism available. Provided with a control knob which protrudes from the face of the door and turns the hold-open function on or off. Tension easily adjusted using an allen wrench to offset air currents or other exterior conditions. Hold-Open function provides a convenient method of holding the door open at a predetermined location for short or long periods of time, permitting an unobstructed traffic flow through the opening.
Stop-Only model: Provides a reliable method of door control when the hold-open function is not a requirement. Provides shock-absorbing capability and may be used on fire doors.
Friction Hold-Open model: Can be adjusted on the top of the slider in the channel using an Allen and open end wrench. Ideal for heavy patient room doors, wardrobe, closet doors or similar applications where multiple Hold-Open positions are desired.
Internal Hold-Open model: Provides a hold-open unit with the hold-open mechanism built into the channel, thus reducing the door prep. The 100HP have a preset hold-open force that is not adjustable. The hold-open feature is not selectable in these units, so the doors are always held open.
Classification: Stop only models are UL listed as miscellaneous fire door accessories. May be used on hollow metal fire doors or wood fire doors of any rating without adversely affecting the fire rating on the fire door and/or fire door frame. Where wood door manufacturer's listing allows for the cutout required for installation, concealed overhead stops may be used on those wood fire doors.
Installation: Product is provided with templates to allow for variable mounting positions, ranging from 85 degrees to 110 degrees hold-open/stop angle. Templates are designed for installation in almost all types of doors. See Installation Tab for complete installation instructions.
Additional Options: Including adjustable jamb brackets, jamb brackets for use with LCN 5030 closer, Pin-in socket security screw and special stop only models can be ordered. Please contact us or call our office at 845-388-1300.

Hollow metal doors should be properly reinforced with a 3/16" (5) minimum thickness plate. C. Stop only units are permitted on many fire door applications. However, mechanical hold-open devices that require manual release are not permitted for use on any fire door as outlined on NFPA80 or NFPA101. Contact Glynn-Johnson or your local representative for assistance. D. Dead stop (DS) templating may be used on hold open, friction and stop only models but should not be used on "SE" models.
