Common Issues with Cabinet Doors

Many issues can arise with kitchen cabinets, the most common being cabinet doors won't stay closed or your soft close cabinet not closing all the way. This post will be discussing how to adjust your cabinet hinges, particularly Blum Hinge Adjustments.

Which Cabinet Hinges are We Talking About?

Blum CLIP top BLUMOTION Hinges are a European Cup Hinge that is high quality, easy to install and maintain and aesthetic. They are designed for frameless cabinets with an integrated adjustment design as well as soft close features.

Steps to Adjusting Cabinet Hinges:

A Phillips head screws driver is required to complete these adjustments.

Cabinet Door Side to Side Adjustment:

This adjustment screw is located towards the front of the hinge. Simply turn right slightly to nudge the cabinet door right and turn left to nudge the cabinet door leftward.

Cabinet Door Height Adjustment:

The cabinet door height is adjusted via the center screws. Turn the screw clockwise to lift the cabinet door and turn it counterclockwise to lower the door.

Cabinet Door Depth Adjustment:

By turning the last screw, towards the back of the hinge you can adjust the depth of the cabinet door.  Turning clockwise will decrease the depth of the door, which turning it counterclockwise will increase the depth of the door.

Once these adjustments are complete, and your cabinet door is properly aligned you can replace the hinge cover (optional).
