Door Dam Flood Barrier / Shield, For Openings up to 48"

What Are Door Dam Flood Barriers: This high quality, removable barrier answers pleas from builders and homeowners for help in protecting doors, windows and building contents from water ingress in flood-prone areas. When water from heavy rains accumulates, the Flood Barrier Shield effectively blocks up to three feet or more of flood waters from permeating door openings. 

How it Works: The solid rubber extrusion (SRE) has been engineered for this specific application. The rubber compensates for any gaps around the door or window. Along the bottom of the barrier, there is a unique triple fin rubber. As water hits the barrier, the horizontal hydrostatic pressure is converted to downward pressure on the SRE causing a secure, tight seal around the perimeter of the frame.

How to Use: Once channels are applied, panels are quick and easy to apply with no tools required. See Installation Tab for more details. Due to the weight of the plates, taller plates may require more than one person to install properly. Barrier has a convenient grip handle for simple maneuvering and usage.

Mount Type: 

• Inside Mount: channels are installed between two surfaces, usually the door jamb or hallway walls.
• Outside Mount: channels are installed along the face of the opening.

How to Measure for Floor Barrier Width:

• Inside Mount: Measure side to side, between the two surfaces.
• Outside Mount: Measure from side to side - from where you will be installing the right channel, until where you will install the left channel. The barrier should be a minimum of 3" larger than the opening.
• Note, the Flood Barrier full system will be sized according to your width requested, thus the barrier portion will be approximately 1/2" less than the requested size, to compensate for the channels and neoprene rubber.

Floor Surface Requirements: If being installed onto a smooth, straight surface, no additional threshold is necessary. If the floor surface that this barrier will sit upon is not smooth, we highly recommend the following saddles:

• #663 - Saddle with rabbet
• #69 - 1.125" x .25" threshold plate
• #319 - 3" Wide Aluminum Threshold with Notch

Channel and Threshold Installation: We recommend using a waterproof silicone sealent like the TruSil 100 to seal the edges of the channels and bottom of threshold when installing.
