    This commercial grade Architectural hinge is a full mortised swing clear spring hinge. It has square corners and is for the use of automatic closing of doors. 

    Spring Hinge: A hinge fitted with one or more springs to close a door automatically. This hinge meets codes for hotels, motels, institutions and commercial buildings.

    Swing Clear: This hinge allows the door to clear the doorway when in an open position. Large objects passing through the doorway will not cause any damage to the door.

    Single Acting: Contains one barrel with spring inside.

    For maximum versatility, use all swing clear spring hinges or a combination of swing clear spring and swing clear ball bearing hinges. Do not use swing clear plain bearing hinges.

    Adjustable Tension: You could set the tension easily, as you need, using a tension bar and set pin (provided). See Installation Instructions for more information. Full spring tension may not be required.

    Strong wind conditions, drafts, carpeting drag, twisted/misaligned frames or weather-stripping on doors may require additional spring hinges.

    Usage on Fire Rated Doors: NFPA 80 has restricted the use of architectural grade spring hinges to fire rated doors of a maximum size of 3'0" x 7'0". Hager spring hinges have been tested and labeled for up to a 4'0" x 8'0" door when a minimum of three springs are used.
