The NGP Flood Shield is designed to help protect door openings and building contents from flood water. This unique product features a spring mechanism that maintains constant tension against the gasketing to create a solid barrier. Universal channels are used for inside or outside mount and is custom made to size.

    The NGP Flood Shield is designed to help protect door openings and building contents from flood water. This unique product features a spring mechanism that maintains constant tension against the gasketing to create a solid barrier.

    How it Works: Mounting channels are installed along the door or window opening. When the flood barrier is needed, simply slide the barrier into the channels, the heavy duty springs provide constant tension and hold the barrier in place, ensuring a reliable seal.

    How to Measure: 

    • For an inside mount - measure the distance between the two walls / door frame where they will be installed.
    • For an outside mount - measure the distance between the two locations where the mounting channels will be installed.
    • Note, the Flood Barrier full system will be sized according to your width requested, thus the barrier portion will be approximately 1/2" less than the requested size, to compensate for the channels and neoprene rubber.

    Dimensions:

    • Channels: 1-1/4" Width x .75" Depth
    • Barrier Thickness: 1/4" Thick
    • Barrier Height and Length: Select from options above. 
    • Note, due to the handle cutouts, the actual flood protection will be 2" less than the barrier height. Ex: a 12" barrier provides 10" flood protection.

    Materials:

    • Barrier Panel - 1/4" Marine grade aluminum with handle cutouts
    • Seal - Closed cell neoprene rubber gaskets installed on bottom and sides of panel
    • Channels - Anodized aluminum mounting channels
    • Compression Springs - Stainless steel for ensured durability

    Installation:

    • Universal channels are used for inside or outside mounting
    • Fasteners: Provided with #10 x 1-1/2" stainless steel sheet metal screws
    • Floor Surface Requirements: If being installed onto a smooth, straight surface, no additional threshold is necessary.
    • We recommend using a waterproof silicone sealent like the TruSil 100 to seal the edges of the channels and when installing.  

    Compliance: Complies with guidelines of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Federal Insurance and Mitigation Administration (FIMA) for use on doors in flood prone areas

      • CLAIMS FOR SHORTAGE OR DAMAGE IN TRANSIT: All claims must be made within Seven (7) days of receipt of goods.
      • Weatherstripping products will not be considered for returns.
      • Item must be in new, resalable condition.
      • Please call or email us to receive an RMA number before returning. No returns will be processed without an RMA number.
      • Return shipping is customer's responsibility. A return address will be provided with RMA#.
      • If you are shipping via USPS (not recommended) do NOT require signature as we will not be able to pick up your package from local post office facility.
