Pemko #285 Door Gasket, 1" Aluminum Casing with Large Sponge EPDM or PemkoPrene Seal

This surface mounted head and jamb protection is fitted with either a large Sponge EPDM or PemkoPrene™ seal. This gasketing weatherstrip is designed to seal gaps up to 1/16", though it can seal up to the depth of its seal. Casing is available in three anodized finishes and is custom cut to size.

This gasketing weatherstrip is applied along the header and jamb of a door frame to seal the gaps along the perimeter of the door. It is fitted with a high quality rubber seal which prevents infiltration of fire, smoke, sound, drafts and light. Casing is available in three finishes and is custom cut to size.

Key Features of this Product Include:

Seal: Seal material is available in Sponge EPDM or PemkoPrene™. Sponge EPDM is comparable to Sponge Neoprene, but is more ecofriendly and delivers overall better performance. Specifically, it has great sound control properties and is resistant to solvents. PemkoPrene has a multi-point compression design which works great on uneven surfaces. Additionally, it is not a firm seal which allows for more leniencies. Both options remain effective in a wide range of temperatures and is a great option for external doors. Gasket is designed to seal gaps of 1/16", however it can seal up the depth of its seal, see product specs for dimensions.

Casing: The gasketing seal is housed in a high quality aluminum anodized casing which is surface mounted to the stop of the door. The casing is punched with elongated slots which allow for easy adjustments while installing. Casing has dimensions of 1" x .65" (21/32").

Compliance: PemkoPrene™ Seal is rated for Fire, Smoke and Air Infiltration. Sponge EPDM is rated for fire. See Product Specs tab for more information.
