Falcon 1690 series Concealed Vertical Rod Exit Device with cylinder and/or dummy trim. Cylinder is field selectable for Night Latch or Hold Back. Grade 1 standards, made with cast metal cover plates and end caps to hold up under rigorous use. Available in a variety of finishes, sizes and functions.

    Falcon Medium Duty 1690 Touch Bar Exit Device with Concealed Vertical Rod and Latches:

    Functions: 

    • 1691: Exit Device with 9970 Dummy Trim. Entrance by trim when actuating bar is locked down. 
    • 1692: Concealed vertical rod touchbar exit device, with rim cylinder. Field selectable for night latch or hold back.
    • 1694: Concealed vertical rod touchbar exit device, with rim cylinder (field selectable for night latch or hold back) and 9970 dummy trim.

    Finishes: Available in a choice of 5 finish options; US28, DC13, DC35, US26 and US26D. Centercase and end caps are powder coated black only.

    Door Size: 84" Height x 24" Minimum Width, Non-EL. Available for doors up to 30", 36", 42" or 48". Device is easily cut to size in the field during installation.  See product specs tab below to determine length needed.

    Applications: Heavy duty mechanism that can hold up to rigorous use for demanding, medium traffic applications. Vertical rods and latch mechanism are concealed in the vertical door stile to ensure trouble-free applications. Quick, singlepoint dogging feature in the housing deactivates the device to permit unrestricted traffic flow. Can be used to retrofit a 1990 series crossbar device.

    Materials: Built with rugged steel operating mechanisms, durable aluminum push bars with Black powder-coated metal end caps and cast metal cover plates.

    Latches: Hex bottom latch standard. For additional options, please contact us or call our office at 845-388-1300.

    Handing: Non handed, field reversible.

    Door Type: For aluminum and hollow metal doors. Not recommended for use on wood doors.

    Door Thickness: For 1 3/4" thick metal doors. Specify in order comments if other than 1 3/4" thick. 

    Door Stile Thickness: 1 3/4" thick door stile (minimum)

    Strikes: PB48 strike

    Cylinder: Rim cylinder C Keyway, supplied standard with night latch and hold back functions. 

    Vertical Rods: 7' standard. Extension rods are available for doors 7' - 10'. Select door height above and extension rods will be furnished to length.

    Dogging feature: Hex key dogging standard, except EL where must use hold back feature.

    Projections: 3-3/8" in neutral position, 2-3/8" in dogged position. Pushbar height is 2-1/2".

    Fasteners: All machine screw mounting. Device mounting fasteners are concealed, latch fasteners are exposed to egress side.

    End caps: Black powder-coated metal end caps.

    ANSI: Certified ANSI A156.3 Grade 1 Standards.
