    Hinge is provided with a non-rising removable pin. The pin does not rise out of the barrel, yet it is removable which allows the pin to be taken out for the dismantling of the door without unscrewing the entire hinge. The pin and plug are flush with each other.

    Additional Options - Can be purchased through our office:

    • Reverse Safety Stud Feature available. This feature is intended to keep the hinge locked in place from abuse of battering or destruction of the hinge and screws. It is primarily used in prisons and psychiatric areas.
    • Air Transfer Feature available. This feature is for doors required to transfer compressed air. 
    • Concealed Electric Modifications available: Three types available. EMN, ETW, ETM. See Options Tab for more information.

    Reverse Safety Stud

    The Reverse Safety Stud (RSS) 7/16" projection is a feature that has a stud projecting from both leaves into the reinforcing plate of both the frame and the door. It is intended to keep the hinge locked in place from abuse of battering or trying to shear the hinges and screws. This feature is primarily used in prisons and psychiatric areas.

    Concealed Air Transfer
    The Air Transfer modification is primarily for doors that require the transfer of compressed air. Hinges with ATH modification available use 5-32" plastic air tubing, have quick-connect fittings and are capable of transfering 80-100 PSI through the air tubing.
    • Hinge pins are not field removable
    • NRP and safety stud are not available
    Note: Air Transfer Hinges have a 1 year guarantee against defects in workmanship and defects. 

    Electric Modifications

    EMN-Electric Monitor Type:

    Electric Monitor hinge has a miniature snap action incorporated into the frame leaf. It utilizes a switch to send a signal when the door is opened. This hinge is for electric monitor only.

    Concealed electric thru-wire hinges are a means to transfer electrical power from the power source, (through the use of 4 continuous electric conductors) through the frame and into the door and finally to the electrified door hardware, such as power lock sets, exit devices and other door monitoring devices. This hinge is for electric thru-wire only.

    ETM-Electric Tru-Wire and Monitor Type:

    These hinges can monitor door position while at the same time transfering power to electrified door hardware such as, power lock sets, exit devices and other door monitoring devices. It does this by combining the 4 continuous electric conductors and the miniature snap action switch to provide continuous circuit and monitoring capabilities.

    • Both continuous electric conductors and monitoring capability

    Important Points to know about Electric Hinges:
    • All of the Hager Companies electric hinges have been tested through UL in order that our products can be used on fire rated or labeled openings.
    • The electric hinge should be the center hinge and used only for low voltage power transfer (48 volts and under) because of safety.
    • The use of a mortar or jamb box is recommended together with electrically modifies hinges in order to protect the wire termination on the inside of the frame. If the box is not used and wires are damaged, warranty of the product will be void.
    • Electric Hinges have a 1 year guarantee against defects in workmanship and materials.
