How to Choose an Adjustable Width Threshold System

 

Adjustable Width Thresholds interlock with various sized plates to give you a threshold with custom dimensions. They are much easier to trim and fit than conventional, single sized saddles. Our adjustable thresholds install without exposed screws on the base for better aesthetics and durability. 

To begin choosing your custom sized threshold determine the total width needed once combined. All parts are custom cut to your specific length. See product specs and pay close attention to the height of the end parts and connector pieces. Some parts have a lower and higher difference in height and can only be used in an offset condition.

 
 

1. SELECT AN BEGINNING AND END PIECE

There are two types of beginning and end pieces. Either you can have one end flush with the floor which can create an ADA compliant threshold or you can opt for a bulkhead part which extends over a step to protect the stair edge from traffic abuse.

3. SELECT A PLATE 

Plates are available in various widths to ensure you meet your required dimensions. For a sturdier product, two or more plates can be used. They can be easy interlocked with Assembly Connectors (see below). They are also available with Epoxy Abrasives bonded into the grooves for a non-slip surface (great for outdoors).

3. SELECT AN ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR

Assembly connectors are used to combine plates. They are made with an interlocking design, ensuring easy assembling and eliminating the need for screws. Combining smaller plates with a connectors ensure a sturdier threshold.
