Adams Rite Deadlock MS+1890 Series MS®, Lock and Latch Bolt, For Aluminum Swinging Doors

This deadlock/deadlatch provides maximum security for aluminum swinging doors.

Please note, trim, cylinder and/or thumbturn are not included with this product and are available for purchase separately.

Cylinder Backset: Distance from the edge of the lock to the center of the cylinder hole.

This deadlock comes in a choice of three backsets:

• 31/32" (24.6 mm) backset

Length of case (A) = 1-5/8" (41.3 mm)

• 1-1/8" (28.6 mm) backset

Length of case (A) = 1-25/32" (45.2 mm)

• 1-1/2" (38.1 mm) backset

Length of case (A) = 2-1/4" (57.2 mm)

Deadlock Bolt: Top bolt for maximum security after hours.

• Eight-ply laminated stainless steel. Center ply has alumina-ceramic core to defeat any hacksaw attack, including rod-type “super” hacksaws.
• Hook shape repels pry bar attempts to “spread” the door from its jamb or lift it off its track.

Deadlatch Bolt: Bottom bolt for traffic control management during business hours.

• Zinc alloy with Delrin face for smooth, quiet action.
• Handing easily reversible. Bolt can be held fully retracted to allow door to be free swinging

Strike: Armored strike with satin stainless steel trim plate with steel mounting plate and dust box. Available in radius shape for pairs of doors, or flat with square corners for ANSI hollow metal jambs. Flat strikes also available with longer lip. MS+1890 Deadlock cannot be used with electric strikes.

Function: Maximum security MS+ deadlock for after hours, with the convenience of traffic control management during business hours. 

Typical installation is a bank or store requiring three modes of door control:
 1. Both lock and latchbolts retracted for unrestricted entry and exit during business hours.
 2. Handle operated latch for exit only traffic just after closing.
 3. Maximum security MS hookbolt for overnight lockup. 

Operation: 360° turn of the key or thumbturn projects or retracts the hookbolt. 120° further turn retracts latchbolt as well. When using trim (available separately) to activate, handle retracts spring-loaded latchbolt only.

Lock Design: The lock accepts any standard mortise cylinder with 1" (25.4 mm) length, 1-5/32" (29.4 mm) diameter and MS® cam, available separately. The lock accepts a cylinder from either or both sides.

• For doors other than 1-3/4" thick.
• Handle/paddle for one or both sides. Handles/paddles on both sides solve, with minimum traffic impediment, the problem of doors that stand ajar due to wind or air conditioning pressures.
