    Adams Rite exit devices offer accessibility that other access control solutions can't match, with a variety of options to suit any application. This interlocking rim exit device is for hollow metal and wood doors, in fire-rated and non fire-rated applications.

    The product is an exit only device, no entry from outside. Additional trims can be added separately.

    Door Width: For 30" - 48" door opening widths. Standard width bars can be field cut to the next smallest opening width. On pairs of doors, specify half of the total exit opening.

    Stile Width: 3-3/4" minimum. Door construction may require additional stile width to meet fire ratings and provide adequate strength.

    Starwheel Bolt: 

    1. When the door closes, the interlocking nose guard and Starwheel bolt close around the strike. The deadlocking slide springs over, locking the Starwheel bolt to the strike. 

    2. When the pushbar is depressed, the deadlocking slide moves back, allowing the door to unlock from the strike. This unique interlock provides solid security and prevents jamb spreading.

    Alarm Option: Battery operated option that emits a loud alarm to notify management of unauthorized exit. Suitable for exit devices 36" wide or greater. For more details, see our Alarmed Exit Device Installation.

    Please note, alarm option cannot be combined with any other device option or monitoring option.

     

    Device Options:

    • Electric Latch Retraction (LR) - Uses solenoid mounted in the pushbar for instantaneous unlocking and locking of the exit device from a remote location or access control device. Available in 12 and 24 volts.
    • Motorized Latch Retraction (MLR) - Incorporates a powerful and efficient motor to unlatch the exit device while providing a quieter operation than the solenoid option. For more details, see our MLR Device Option Installation.
    • Mechanical Dogging: Latchbolt is held retracted manually, by use of a hex key or cylinder, available separately. Mechanical dogging cannot be used on fire-rated devices. For more details, see our Mechanical Dogging Installation.
    • Electrical Dogging: Latchbolt is held retracted electrically, by use of a motor or solenoid via remote activation. For more details, see our Electrical Dogging Installation.

    Please note, the MLR Device option is supported by a 1 year electro mechanical warranty. When powered by an Adams Rite PS-SE power supply the 1 year warranty is upgraded to 5 years.

     

    Monitoring Options:

    Mounted in the exit device pushbar on the hinge end, the switch can be used to activate a signal light, horn, monitor or other devices. For more details, see our Monitoring Option Installation.

    Please note, 30" exit devices cannot accommodate monitoring options, except when ordered in conjunction with the MLR device option. 

     

    Custom Options:

    • Steel mullions for doors up to 96" - allows the use of rim exit device on paired doors without narrowing the door
