In place of the typical rosette, this Emtek EMP8821 EMPowered™ Motorized SMART Lock with Modern Sideplate Locks offers Sideplate variants. In terms of height and design, they provide a higher backplate option that is comparable to the inside mortise box locks that were once popular in older homes. With a revised design and a more modern tubular latch, our sideplate alternatives are a fresh spin on the original idea. Together with the Emtek EMPower upgrade, you have the option to have keyless access to your door using your smart devices.

EMPowered Design: EMpowered is a design-focused electronic lock solution that can integrate with the latest in smart home technology. Customizable features personalize your lock to work the way you want: Volume settings, inside indicator light, one-touch locking, lockout/vacation mode, auto lock, and languages: English, Spanish, or French. It fits a door thickness of up to 2-1/4". This feature is only available in the Single Cylinder option.

Backset: The backset is the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the 2-1/8" borehole. The two common backsets for residential locks are 2-3/8” or 2-3/4" backset (both included).

Door Thickness: 1-3/4" (Standard), 2" Thick, 2-1/4"

28° Rotation Latch:

• An option to change your latch to have up to 28° rotation
