This model is a vision lite kit compatible with 1-3/4" to 3" thick doors, and recommended for applications requiring safety from wind-borne debris. The vision lite comes complete with a 5/16" thick glass configuration that is made of 2 heat strengthened glass lites that measure 1/8" each and are separated by an inerlayer. Rubber is applied to all openings in the vision lite to ensure maximum protection. The vision lite kit is available in many sizes and finishes, choose from the dropdowns below.

    This hurricane and high wind velocity vision lite kit comes complete with a 5/16" thick glass configuration.

    Material: 18 gauge galvanneal steel frame

    Dimensions: Available in common sizes through our site. Additional sizing can be purchased through our office.

    Construction: 1-1/2" trim with mitered and welded corners, square return and countersunk mounting holes on both sides.

    Sealing: In order to ensure that the vision lite is secure against hurricane winds, additional rubber sealing is placed at every opening.

    • Between Frame & Glass: Sponge rubber, EPDM / neoprene press-on glazing tape measuring 1/8” x 3/8”. Dow Corning #995 (or equal model) silicone structural glazing sealant applied per Dow Corning instructions. 
    • Between Door & Frame Perimeter: Closed cell EPDM press-on glazing tape measuring 1/4” x 3/8” applied to the inside face of the lite kit frame.
    • Screw Entry Points: Neoprene "O"- Ring, 7/32” and 5/32” I.D. with 1/16” wall, are provided to be used at each screw head. 
    • Setting Blocks to Suit: EPDM or neoprene setting blocks with a minimum thickness of 1/16” at quarter points of bottom of glass and elsewhere as needed to prevent the glass from cracking.

    Door Type: For 1-3/4" to 3" thick doors.

    Fasteners Included: #8 x 32 Phillips head thru bolts with blank head one side, to match finish.

    Glass Included: 5/16" thick glazing configuration that comes complete with the product. 1/8" heat-strengthened glass lites separated by 0.075" interlayer.

    Compliance Details: This is a severe windstorm approved vision frame that has been tested in accordance with glazing impact, cyclic wind pressure loading, uniform static air pressure and windstorm resistance.
