This model is a bottom rail deadlock that provides maximum security for ultra narrow stile aluminum or tempered glass doors. The lock utilizes hardened stainless steel bolts for the limited space of aluminum doors with a narrow stile or glass doors that have no stile at all. The product includes the lock body only; cylinder and/or thumbturn need to be purchased separately. Available in a choice of bolt operations, choose from the dropdown below.

    This bottom rail deadlock provides maximum security for ultra narrow stile aluminum or tempered glass doors.

    Please note, cylinder and/or thumbturn and tube spacers (if required) are not included with this product and are available for purchase separately.

    Cylinder Backset: Distance from the edge of the lock to the center of the cylinder hole.

    • Vertical bolt: 2-1/4" (57.2 mm) minimum backset
    • Vertical and horizontal bolt: 5-3/4" (146.1 mm) backset

    Cylinder Height: Distance from the bottom of the door to the center of the cylinder hole.

    Bolt: Allows simple drilled strike holes of a relatively small size to minimize the nuisance and danger presented by some threshold strikes in collecting debris or snagging on high-heeled shoes.

    This deadlock comes in a choice of two bolt operations:

    • One Point Deadlock (MS1861-01) - Vertical Bolt
    • Two Point Deadlock (MS1861-02) - Vertical and Horizontal Bolt

    The 4014 Conversion Kit is available separately for multi-point locking applications.

    In metal installation, 7/16" (11.1 mm) drilled holes in the threshold are required. For MS1861-02 configuration with both vertical and horizontal bolts, drilled holes are also required in the jamb or opposite door.

    Operation: 360° turn of the key or thumbturn projects or retracts the counterbalanced bolt. Key can be removed only when the bolt is in a positively locked or unlocked position. Lock accepts any standard 1" (25.4 mm) length, 1-5/32" (29.4 mm) diameter mortise cylinder with MS® cam, available separately. Lock accepts cylinder from either or both sides.
