Made of Solid Brass
This interlocking metal weatherstrip is compatible with double-hung wooden window frames. When installed, the protruding design corresponds with a cut out in the door / window frame and interlocks to create a barrier which prevents draft infiltration and rattling due to faulty installation.
The weatherstrip has a total width of approx. 1.750" and the raised portion has a height of .390". It requires a cut out of .125" (W) x .45" (H). It is easily applied with wood screws.
To install, either remove or lower the upper sash window and measure and trim metal weatherstrip to jamb height. To create the corresponding groove in the window frame, use a circular saw to make a cutout measuring .125" (W) x .45" (H) along the window frame. Nail the metal weatherstrip in place after testing that the window interlocks and slides smoothly.
Fasteners: Can be applied with 7/8" Wire Nails, not included. Select link to purchase separately.
