Pemko #3494 Meeting Stile, Aluminum, Locking Spring Bolt with Double Seal for In-swing Doors

This meeting stile is ideal for entrances with in-swing, double doors where only one of the doors is in use most of the time for security reasons, to control traffic, maintain room temperature, or for privacy and calm. The aluminum housing has both pile and rubber seals to provide imperforated closure to the midline gap of single active doors. This product has customization options and is supplied with an installation kit for your convenience. 

Dimensions: This meeting Stile is for 1.75" thick doors. The housing cradles the door’s edge and extends more than .5” away from edge.  Therefore, for surface mounted installation, the midline gap must exceed .5”. To mortise for a neat look, a .5” cutout in the inactive door edge is required. See product specs and detailed images for visual representation.

Seals: The Inactive door is fitted with an aluminum housing that holds a rubber pressure seal (silicone or vinyl), a pile seal, and contains the tube that holds an aluminum lock bolt mechanism.

Choose from a silicone or a vinyl pressure seal. Silicone rubber does not become brittle and hard in the cold or very soft in the heat. This material has excellent resistance to sunlight, weather, ozone, oxidization, water and flames. Vinyl is durable, with good chemical resistance to adhesives and most mild cleaning solutions. It has only limited ultraviolet and weather resistance.

This rubber seal combined with the standard pile brush seal provide double protection from infiltration of unwanted elements and passage of temperatures between environments.

Lock Bolt: Meeting Stile is fitted with locking spring bolts. Spring bolt has full 3/8" diameter steel bolts with 1-1/16" throw for improved locking strength. In the extended and locked position, locking spring bolts are tamper proof and cannot be easily retracted. In the retracted position, the spring loaded bolts latch firmly, thus preventing marking of the floor and door header trim when opening or closing the inactive door.

Additional Features: Vinyl snap-in cover strip: Meeting stile comes with with a vinyl snap-in cover strip to conceal the spring-bolt cutout and to cover the mounting screws.

Neoprene bottom seal: Product comes with a molded sponge neoprene bottom seal

Installation kit and detailed instructions provided. Kit includes: Two, four-way, adjustable, Top & Bottom Bolt Strike Plates, screws for attaching astragal to door edge, strike plates, and a 3/32 Hex key for adjusting spring bolt locking units. Screws are colored to coordinate with casing.
