Zero #56-557 Meeting Stile, Mortised with Adjustable Silicone Lips

This mortised meeting stile includes complementing aluminum and silicone meeting stiles designed for use on double active doors. The double-lip shaped, self extinguishing, silicone seal compresses against the complementary solid insert to prevent sound from leaking in or out of a room, to provide a weather seal, ensure privacy, and to minimizes the passage of light between the doors. An adjusting screw and stainless steel spring (see product specs) permits the seal to be adapted to effectively close clearance gaps of varying sizes resulting from natural warping or inevitable shifting of the doors.

Each astragal has a strong aluminum base designed to be installed within a mortise measuring .790” deep and .530” wide. The gap between the doors when they close should be a minimum of .250” (see installation instructions tab). The mortised application of the meeting stile allows the door to maintain a clean, unobtrusive appearance, making it an optimal choice for high-end designer doors and luxury hotels and condos.

Available in four anodized finishes. Anodizing is an electrolytic process that applies a corrosion-resistant coating to the aluminum for longer wear and color maintenance. This product was anodized to 204 (dipped four times).
