This Zero #84R durable neoprene traction tread and cover plate is used in conjunction with either the Expansion Joint Cover Plate System, Surface Mounted and the Expansion Joint Cover Plate System, Flush Mounted. It serves as an expansion joint cover, to increase threshold width, as a thermal break between two metal parts, or to improve traction capabilities. It is notched on the underside for easy, no welding necessary, installation. Custom cut to size.

    This durable, high quality, neoprene plate has multiple useful applications. It is used in conjunction with a custom sized threshold to increase threshold width, as a thermal break, and improve traction capabilities by being placed between the threshold and the accompanying adjustable width metal plate (see applications tab). Notches on the underside of the plate permit easy, no welding required, installation.

    In addition, it serves as an expansion joint cover (see applications tab). Expansion joints are the gaps left between two flooring areas to prevent warping of floor materials resulting from the expansion and shrinkage of certain types of flooring due to seasonal temperature changes. When a threshold is screwed in place above it to conceal the gap (see Expansion Joint Cover Plate System, Surface Mounted), or alternatively, when metal plates are recessed between the end of one floor surface and the beginning of the next (see Expansion Joint Cover Plate System, Flush Mounted), this yielding neoprene plate supplies the flexibility needed to allow for possible floor changes, unlike a solid metal plate (see application tab).

    Neoprene exhibits a range of useful properties, including good resistance to water, cold, heat, and tolerance for moderate chemicals, acids, oils, and solvents. The plate measures 1.00” wide and .250” in height.
