Adams Rite Deadlatch 4300, Steel Hawk® Electrified Deadlatch, For Narrow Stile Aluminum Doors

This Steel Hawk® electrified deadlatch is for narrow stile aluminum swinging doors.

Please note: Turn, cylinder and/or thumbturn are not included with this product and are available for purchase separately.

Cylinder Backset: Distance from the edge of the lock to the center of the cylinder hole.

This deadlatch comes in a choice of three backsets:

• 31/32" (24.6 mm) backset

Length of case (A) = 1-19/32" (40.5 mm)

• 1-1/8" (28.6 mm) backset

Length of case (A) = 1-49/64" (44.8)

• 1-1/2" (38.1 mm) backset

Length of case (A) = 2-9/64" (54.4 mm)

Latchbolt: Top bolt

Auxiliary Bolt: Bottom bolt that deadlocks the latchbolt to prevent "loiding" or case-knife entry.

Strike: This deadlatch comes in a choice of strikes:

• 4304 Strike: Surface mounted for easy retrofits.
• 4901 Strike: 4-3/4" mortised flush version when covering existing MS® deadlock preparation or for new applications. 

Strike is available with radius profiles for pairs of doors and with extended lips of center hung for thick door applications.

Voltage: The deadlatch operates on 12, 16 or 24 VDC power and is rated for continuous duty. Equipped with a quick connect plug in type connector for easy installation.

• Current Draw/Amps 0.44A at 12VDC 0.458A at 16VDC
• 0.23A at 24VDC Required 16 VDC adapter (P/N VA 7400-16VDC)

Operation: Turn the key, apply voltage, or operate the handle/paddle to release the spring-loaded latchbolt. Always operable from the inside via handle/paddle device (available separately). Electrically-rated for continuous duty for timed applications. Easily interfaces with other access control system elements. Available in fail secure configuration only. 

Lock Design: The lock accepts any standard mortise cylinder with 1" (25.4 mm) length, 1-5/32" (29.4 mm) diameter and MS® cam, available separately. The lock accepts a cylinder from either or both sides.

Compatible Cylinders:

• Adams Rite #4036 - Mortise Cylinder
• Adams Rite #4066 - Thumbturn Insert

Compatibility: 

• Interchangeable without stile modification for MS® Deadlocks or 4500 and 4900 Deadlatches.
• Cannot be used in conjunction with the 4600M deadlatch handle.
