This model is a deadlock/deadlatch for sliding wood doors. The lock features a self-protecting bolt and adjustable bolt projection. The 5017 Deadlock provides the same strength that the MS1847 Deadlock provides for metal stiles, with a deeper backset that clears the recessed jambs used in wood doors. The product includes the lock body only; cylinder pull and/or thumbturn need to be purchased separately. Available in a choice of latch configurations, choose from the dropdown below.

    This deadlock/deadlatch is for sliding wood doors.

    Please note, strike, cylinder pull and/or turn are not included with this product and are available for purchase separately.

    Cylinder Backset: Distance from the edge of the lock to the center of the cylinder hole.

    • 1-3/16" (30.2 mm) / 1-1/4" (31.8 mm) including the faceplate

    Faceplate: Ends are radius design

    Bolt: Three-ply laminated stainless steel

    • Throw is easily adjusted by means of a screw in the faceplate.
    • Self-protecting bolt prevents damage or accidental lockout by retracting immediately upon contact with the jamb.

    Latch Configuration: This deadlock comes in a choice of two options:

    • Standard
    • Self-latching - Bolt is spring loaded for automatic locking, so when the door gets closed and the bolt makes contact with the preparation in the jam it will automatically latch. 

    Installation: The deadlock is mounted by throughbolts which also secure the inside turn and outside cylinder when installed. For details on how to install this deadlock, see our Installation Instructions.

    Operation: 45° rotation of the turn or key projects or retracts the bolt.
