Fire Glazing Tape with adhesive backing can assist glazing products to meet the necessary fire test requirements. The glazing tape takes up less space than other fire glazing products, thereby permitting larger vision lite glass size. This increases light flow and is an aesthetic improvement to the room. This Glazing tape has a 45 minute fire rating and has applications for both metal and wood doors and frames with single and multiple vision lites.

    Adhesive Fire Glazing Tape with a 45 minute fire rating assists glazing products to meet the necessary fire test requirements for 20 and 45 minute openings, with hose stream, on wood and metal doors with vision lites installed.

    The specially formulated high performance glazing tape takes up less space than other fire glazing products, thereby permitting larger sidelites, borrowed lites, 
transom lites and vision frames, based. This increases light flow and is an aesthetic improvement to the room.

    Appropriate for use in 20 and 45 minute fire rated doors, in exterior fire rated applications.

    Key features of this product include:

    Dimensions: Glazing tape is .4375” wide and .0469” thick. Please see products specs.

    Material: This intumescent material is manufactured from ammonium phosphate in a polymeric binder. Intumescents are used to achieve passive fire protection for such applications as firestopping, fireproofing, gasketing and window casings. This product will expand with heat to seal gaps and will not flame. This product does not present a fire hazard. There is no toxicity hazard under normal conditions of use.

    Applications: Fire rating is relevant only to applications where door and frame are manufactured by companies that are classified by Underwriters Laboratories Inc.®. Verify all applications with your door and/or frame manufacturer.     Installation: Self adhesive backing permits an easy, no mess placement of glazing tape. Please read installation instructions before installing glazing tape to ensure best possible outcomes.

    For exterior fire-rated applications, a clear silicone caulk is recommended for water proofing and an additional foam tape is used to fully weatherproof the area.
