This Double Seal Meeting Stile for outswing, 1.75" thick, single active double doors, is composed of two aluminum housings with seals which are installed along the midline gap of the doors. One of the housings is fitted with tamper-proof spring bolt to lock one of the doors in place. Meeting stile has both mortised or surface mounted applications and comes in various aluminum finishes. Custom cut to size with additional customization options.

    This meeting stile with locking spring bolts is designed for outswing doors. Aluminum housing has both pile and silicone seals to provide imperforated closure to the midline gap of single active doors. This product has customization options and is supplied with an installation kit for your convenience. This product can be surface applied or mortised for a neat, sleek look. See customization options below for additional functions.

    Dimensions: This meeting Stile is for 1.75" thick doors. The active door should be beveled 2° (see product specs and installation instructions) to fit the aluminum housing that cradles the door’s edge. A silicone seal extends over the door's edge to seal the gap.

    The Inactive door is fitted with an aluminum housing that cradles the door’s edge and extends more than .5” away from edge. It holds a pile seal and contains the tube that holds an aluminum lock bolt mechanism. Therefore, for surface mounted installation, the midline gap must exceed .5”. To mortise for a neat look, a .5” cutout in the inactive door edge is required. See product specs and detailed images for visual representation.

    Lock Bolt: Meeting Stile is fitted with locking spring bolts. Spring bolt has full 3/8" diameter steel bolts with 1-1/16" throw for improved locking strength. In the extended and locked position, locking spring bolts are tamper proof and cannot be easily retracted. In the retracted position, the spring loaded bolts latch firmly, thus preventing marking of the floor and door header trim when opening or closing the inactive door.

    Additional Features: Vinyl snap-in cover strip: Meeting stile comes with with a vinyl snap-in cover strip to conceal the spring-bolt cutout and to cover the mounting screws.

    Neoprene bottom seal: Product comes with a molded sponge neoprene bottom seal

    Installation kit and detailed instructions provided. Kit includes: Two, four-way, adjustable, Top & Bottom Bolt Strike Plates and screws for attaching astragal to door edge and strike plates. Screws are colored to coordinate with casing.
