Seals: Available with a PemkoPrene™, Sponge EPDM and Sponge Silicone insert.

EPDM is comparable to Sponge Neoprene, though has significantly better performance and is more environmentally friendly! It has great sound control properties and is resistant to solvents.
PemkoPrene™ has a multi-point contact design and is great for uneven surfaces such as a tiled floor or carpet. Due to the way PemkoPrene™ is manufactured, it is not as firm as sponge silicone and allows for more leniencies.

Mounting: This automatic door bottom can be surface mounted or semi-mortised applied to the face of the door.

Installation: Installation instructions, end plates and screws provided. Screws are colored to coordinate with casing.

How it Works

The high quality automatic mechanism consists of an aluminum case which surrounds a moveable drop-bar seal. The drop-bar seal is actuated by a plunger which contacts the door jamb as the door is closing, forcing the drop-bar seal down against the floor / threshold. The plunger requires low "Feather Touch" closing force to actuate the drop-bar seal. The plunger causes the seal to always actuate on the hinge side first, which prevents the seal from skidding along the floor/threshold while the door is being closed. Door hang-up will not occur!
